Government outlines construction as a key sector to drive growth in the UK

Construction has been listed as one of the first industries to benefit from the the new Modern Industrial Strategy in the Government’s latest whitepaper alongside Artificial Intelligence and Automotive.

Economic growth and a boost of productivity is the main targets for this initiative hoping to  transform construction, healthcare, Services 4.0 and energy which will gain significant Government funding. The vision for a ‘transformed economy’ is built from the five foundations: Ideas, People, Infrastructure, Business Environment and Places.

Business Secretary Greg Clark explained “Our new, ambitious Industrial Strategy will build on the UK’s strengths, boost productivity and earning power and will ensure we are one of the most competitive places in the world to start and grow a business.”
