My client is a dynamic new integrated highways services company, equally owned by two leading service providers. They offer a comprehensive, unique and innovative range of contracting, asset management and consultancy skills to clients such as the Highways Agency and Local Authorities.
They are currently seeking a CDM Co-ordinator to be based from Basingstoke. Reporting to the IMS Manager, you will act as the nominated individual for the CDMC function within the Area 3 contract which covers Hants, Berks, Bucks, Dorset, Surrey and Oxon.
You will have PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE of working in a highways environment, have a proven ability to understand how projects are constructed and how the risks to health and safety can be reduced or eliminated and you will be able to show or demonstrate evidence of significant work on similar projects.
Duties & respionsibilities:
Ensure the company and its clients comply with CDM Regulations by co-ordinating the health and safety aspects of design and construction
Ensure adequate collaboration with relevant parties
Ensure adequate attention is paid to the need to eliminate hazards and to reduce risk on projects
Ensure pre-construction health and safety plans and health and safety files are prepared.
Competencies:
Good IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Projects)
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to represent the company professionally with external organisations.
Ability to work within strict deadlines and deliver good quality documents
Ability to liaise with designers and contractors to guide them with regard to accommodating health and safety issues.
A proven ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
