Fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Highways Maintenance specialist to build and develop a business
My client is an ambitious business with exciting plans to grow and develop in the short term. They provide outsourced management solutions to both local authority clients and the private sector covering waste, environmental services and street scene services with current annual revenues of circa £20m and over 600 employees.
In order to achieve their targeted growth plans they are seeking a Highways Manager to join their team based out of offices in Hampshire. You will be solely responsible for the development and delivery of the Highways Maintenance element to the business including managing key client relationships and winning new business. The role will require the preparation, bidding and subsequent management of highways projects, ensuring project requirements, clients specifications and company objectives are fully met.
Responsibilities
- To review documentation and prepare estimates, developing construction files for schemes/bids within Highway Maintenance, Traffic and Transport schemes
- Providing assistance in compiling proposals for any other bid undertaken by my client
- The negotiation with suppliers to secure best value and the review of supporting information
- The formation and management of a successful, safe and efficient highways delivery team
- To ensure the customer is at the heart of all we do including the client, stakeholders and the public at large
- To act as the main point of contact with Client Project Managers, attending meetings, giving presentations and liaising with a cross section of the industry
- Safe management of highways design projects, in accordance with relevant design codes of practice, standards and advice notes
- To ensure that the planning and management of activities is always focussed on delivery the best possible service
- Preparation and management of project programmes and budgets
- Delivery of sound and innovative technical and practical solutions
- Preparation of reports and scheme cost estimates
- To comply with management systems and procedures
- To ensure that environmental considerations are given top priority in all that we do
- To deliver a service that continually improves
