Personal Assistant Required - Regional Contractor  
   
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a leading family owned and run contractor in the construction sector, who have an excellent reputation within their sector.  
   
Reporting to the business board. This varied, and highly challenging role will involve 3 main areas of responsibility:  
   
1) Administrative Support to the Board of Directors  
   
To maintain diaries and assist the Business Board with planning and using time efficiently.  
To provide a personal and confidential secretarial service.  
To produce documents and correspondence accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective written communication.  
To deal effectively and efficiently with telephone calls and visitors, maintaining a high quality and professional service at all times.  
To filter information and take action and initiative on those matters for which it is appropriate to do so.  
To attend meetings and produce minutes as required by the Business Board.  
   
2) General Office Management    
   
Accountable to the Regional Director for the smooth and cost effective running of all the business administration in the Southern office.  
Acts as a central point of contact for the office with respect to any accommodation issues.  
Co-ordinates the IT resources for the office.  
To develop and maintain effective filing systems for the storage and prompt retrieval of information.  
Deal with all incoming and outgoing mail.  
Co-ordinate the maintenance of all office equipment and maintain stocks of office sundries and stationery as required.  
   
3) General    
   
It is expected that the post-holder will be able to assume other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Business Board.    
   
Essential skills   
A high level of verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, client and other external parties at all levels.  
A demonstrated ability to produce typed documentation  
The ability to take minutes.  
The ability to maintain and develop effective office systems.  
The ability to work without close supervision and prioritise own workload.  
The ability to use initiative and diplomacy when problem-solving.

These fantastic new projects are based in Malmesbury, Thatcham and Salisbury Plain and the company operate across to Bath and Reading, up to Cheltenham/Gloucester and down to Salisbury. The individual will work on the majority of groundworks within the business, so has to have experience in this. Projects will range from £1m - £15m, including education, healthcare, and aspire work.

Role & Responsibilities  
Prime responsibility for taking decisions on all aspects of Dangerous Structures and responding within 2-hour target time. When necessary to work in accordance with the emergency plan and liaise with other departments of the Council and outside bodies to achieve removal of the dangerous structure. Complete call out reports, issue and serve any required notices.
  • Ensure that all works controlled under the Building Regulations and associated legislation are undertaken in such a manner as to comply with substantive provisions.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to all users of the service and recommend innovative and practical solutions to complex building regulation queries.
  • Ensure unauthorised work is brought into compliance and lead on any necessary enforcement action under the Building Regulations and Building Act.
As the successful Building control surveyor you are likely to have:  
Essential experience.
  • Previous successful experience in a building control section of a local authority or similar organisation processing complex building regulation applications; enforcing and remedying breaches.
  • Good knowledge of current building control legislation, guidance and issues relevant to the post specifically and the service generally.
  • Understanding of LABC initiatives such as the Partner Authority and Type Approval schemes.
  • Practical understanding of the implications of Health and Safety legislation particularly in relation to personal safety and the safety of others
Desirable experience.
  • Relevant building degree.
  • Full driving licence and personal transport.
  • Able to make site inspections including ability to climb ladders.

Role & Responsibilities
To design and develop mechanical engineering solutions for use in the onshore gas and petrochemical industries. The candidate is to be confident and experienced in providing professional engineering advice to both clients and multi-disciplinary teams on issues concerning all aspects of gas infrastructure projects. We are looking for a self-starter who has a very good understanding of AGIs and pipeline design covering the whole project life cycle from feasibility study to detailed design.
  • Design & modifications of AGIs and pipelines from feasibility though to detailed design.
  • Responsible for key FPSA participation
  • Responsible for the development of piping instrumentation diagrams, ELD's, Materials Take-Offs, ISO's etc.
  • Responsible for writing specifications for mechanical equipment such as filters, valves, heat exchangers and pressure vessels
  • Responsible for undertaking relevant calculations to ensure legislative requirements are met, and process parameters do not exceed the allowable limits.
  • Working with equipment vendors on developing designs for equipment packages and reviewing proposals against specification requirements
  • Review of designs during both tender proposal and detailed design phases of a project

As the successful Senior Mechanical Gas Engineer you are likely to have:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualifications/experience)
  • Experience within the Oil & Gas industry (5yrs)
  • Experience of design for National Grid Distribution/Cadent (5yrs)
  • Detailed knowledge of National Grid Distribution/Cadent Specifications
  • In depth knowledge of gas processes and associated process conditions
  • Experience of working with the G/17 & G/35 process
  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer status (C.Eng preferred, I.Eng minimum)
  • Knowledge of national and international codes and standards used within the industry covering design and manufacturing requirements of plant equipment and piping
  • Experience working under ISO9001 Quality Management systems
  • Experience and knowledge of NGT and IDN specific standards and specifications
  • Experience of carrying out AGI and piping modifications designs
  • Experience of working with mechanical designers and pipe stress engineers
  • Experience of working under their own initiative and as a specialist within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers
