I am working with a main contractor in the Hampshire area who are looking for an Intermediate Planner to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. They want an individual to work 50% on live projects and 50% in pre-construction and to have come from a tier one contracting background.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the contractors plan in accordance to the contract
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of the programme
  • Communicate programme performance, time and outcomes in a timely way with stakeholder's and the Project Managers and generate and realise teams
  • Manage and control programme information
  • Identify and allocate of resources and monitoring of budget and cost
  • Accountable for implementing and promoting strong programme governance throughout the delivery of the project
  • Develop the tender programme into a fully integrated Design, procurement and project programme in co-ordination with the site management team.
  • Attend tender hand over meeting, discuss about the methodology and programme strategy and describe potential target that can be achieved, any ideas for improvement on time and cost etc.
  • Develop short-term programmes as per the requirements of the team to assist in managing micro elements of the project.
 
 Personal specification:
  • Previous industry experience
  • New build experience
  • Experience working for a main contractor
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership, resource allocation and general management
  • Experience in risk identification and assessment
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining a works programme

Contracts Manager

I am working with a top regional contractor in the Surrey area who are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team. The projects will be based one hour from the office in Surrey and include developments such as accommodation, hospitality and education.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Look after 2-3 projects at any one time with projects values from £1m - £13m.
  • Put together plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales
  • Prepare and present documents for tender
  • Contribute to work planning, and brief project teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Gather information together for invoicing at the end of the project
  • Supply information to resolve any disputes
  • Identify areas for improvement

Design Manager

I am working with a tier 1 contractor based in the Berkshire area who are looking for a Design Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. You will be looking after contractors proposals for all jobs, and taking the project from inception to full delivery. The client ideally would like you to have worked for a tier 1 contractor as the processes are very similar.  
   
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Manage the design process during the pre-construction and as required, the construction phase.
  • Fully investigate Value engineering and value creation opportunities.
  • Interrogation of enquiry documents, in the form of an Employer's Requirements.
  • Production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments.
  • Manage our design process via external consultants.
  • Drive innovative and cost effective solutions into the design.
  • Progress design issues within a strict timescale & ensure designers meet information delivery dates.
  • Review Sub contractor design proposals.
 
 Personal specification:
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Have an understanding of different Client procurement routes.
  • Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage.
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.

  • Flexible with working hours and have the ability to travel within the local area on a regional and national basis when required
