Document Controller Location: Fareham, Hampshire Salary £20,000 - £22,500 + Incentives
I am looking for a Document controller to work within a fast paced construction business based in Fareham, Hampshire. This will be a Permanent contract.  
Client overview:  
Fareham based specialist facade contractor providing full design, supply and installation packages.
The Role:
  • Reporting to the design manager you will manage the flow and processing of all information from main contractor to the design team.
  • Provide support and manage information within the design team in order to maximize the efficiency of information.
  • Speak with main contractors and design teams to ensure that queries and documents are dealt with accurately, efficiently and consistently.
  • Manage the flow of all information on the servers and coming in from design teams, commercial teams and contractors within the systems and to help streamline documents and files to make processes more slick and simple.
Essential for this role:
  • Experience within a construction, design or architectural office.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional mannerisms
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft and outlook.
  • Experience within a document controller role.  
  • Enthusiasm and drive to progress further on within the business in the design and commercial team.

Build Secretary

Build Secretary - Regional Contractor/Developer
Our client a regional construction company are seek a high calibre Build Secretary to report to the Operations Director. This varied, and highly challenging role will involve 2 main areas of responsibility:  
1) Administrative Support to the Operations Manager/Managing Director  
To maintain diaries and assist the Operations Manager/Managing Director with planning and using time efficiently.
To provide a personal and confidential secretarial service.
To produce documents and correspondence accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective written communication.
To deal effectively and efficiently with telephone calls and visitors, maintaining a high quality and professional service at all times.
To filter information and take action and initiative on those matters for which it is appropriate to do so.
To attend meetings and produce minutes as required by the Business Board.  
2) General Construction Office Management  
Accountable to the Regional Director for the smooth and cost effective running of all the business administration in the Southern office.
Acts as a central point of contact for the office with respect to any accommodation issues.
Co-ordinates the IT resources for the office.
To develop and maintain effective filing systems for the storage and prompt retrieval of information.
Deal with all incoming and outgoing mail.
Co-ordinate the maintenance of all office equipment and maintain stocks of office sundries and stationery as required.
Deal with site progress/construction costing reports and ensuring all subsequent actions are implemented
Liaise with suppliers
Redirect and obtain PO numbers for raised invoices   
Essential skills:  
Experience within a construction company with a strong understanding of construction terminology and processes.
A high level of verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, client and other external parties at all levels.
A demonstrated ability to produce typed documentation
The ability to take minutes.
The ability to maintain and develop effective office systems.
The ability to work without close supervision and prioritise own workload.
The ability to use initiative and diplomacy when problem-solving.

I am working with a tier 1 contractor based in the Hampshire area who are looking for a Design Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. You will be looking after contractors proposals for all jobs, and taking the project from inception to full delivery. The client ideally would like you to have worked for a tier 1 contractor as the processes are very similar.
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Supporting, understanding and advising the client as to the requirements
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
  • Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction
  • Projects range from £500k - £5m
 Personal specification:
  • 5 years plus experience in the industry
  • Experience doing schools
  • Experience doing hospitals
  • Experience doing airports
  • Understanding of contractual design
  • Experience in refurbishment and extensions
