Job vacancy opportunity: Senior Quantity Surveyor  
   
Our client is looking to add a number of experienced Quantity Surveyors to the rapidly growing team. Due to the expansion and the recently established southern office they require new personnel at all levels.   
   
Projects: To work as part of the commercial team on a number of high value, exciting educational, healthcare & care home projects across the southern region (Projects in Walton-on-Thames, Cobham & Woking).      
       
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required      
Essential:  The ideal candidate will have QS experience with a tier 1 main contractor working on high value projects between £5m-£30m.  
   
Desirable:      
HNC or Degree qualified      
Previous experience with main/regional contractors.

Quantity Surveyor

Job Title:  Quantity Surveyor  
Location: Berkshire
Salary: £38,000 - £53,000 + benefits

A highly respected, family owned construction company are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team. The role is site based in Slough, but there may be times when you are based in the regional office at Theale. The ideal person will have education and commercial office experience.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Pre-start reviewing design, contract and cost plan allowances with team
  • Attending and contributing to design team and client project meetings
  • Take off BQ's from drawings and specifications (must be competent to do this for all packages from groundworks through to finishes)
  • Preparing and sending out tender packages, negotiating orders with trades and putting together subcontract orders
  • Carrying out site measures and valuations again subcontractor applications including issuing payment and withholding notices
  • Preparing client applications and variation accounts
  • Preparing and maintaining the procurement schedule and warranty tracker.
  • Managing and supporting any junior staff if applicable to site
  • Preparing monthly CVR report to run through and agree with the visiting Commercial Manager
 
Personal specification:
  • Someone who has recently had sole project responsibility
  • £10m project so education experience
  • Commercial office experience
  • Refurbishment and demolition experience

Key Skills
 
Minimum NVQ3. NVQ4 preferred
Must have good technical skill.
Must have good management/communication skills.
The ability to carry out surveys on existing equipment.
Must have office base computer skills, MS Word, Excel minimum.
Must have valid full UK driving licence
