I am working with a residential building and refurbishment contractor in the Surrey area who specialise on high specification projects in Central and South West London. They are looking for a Contracts Manager to join the team who has experience dealing with private clients and has contractor background.  
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Running 2-3 sites at one time
  • Projects range from £400k to £1.5m
  • Manage engineers and architects
  • In charge of the whole business unit
  • Office based
 
 Personal specification:
  • Has an HND/HNC in relevant area
  • Has either main contracting or house building experience
  • Understands high spec projects
  • Has background of a site manager
  • Ideally a trades background
  • Ideally been in a stable job for 3 years plus.

I am working with a main contractor in the Berkshire area who are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated managers. Experience of running your own schemes up to £7-8million and experience of being part of a team on bigger schemes is attractive to this region and is the type of experience they look for within their Site Managers.      
       
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Develop site specific plans with Senior Management and continually review, Implement, monitor and enforce procedures.
  • Review method statements and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company's procedures, arrange and chair pre-start meetings with sub - contractors and attend hand - over meeting with pre-construction team.
  • Manage designated projects to meet company objectives post-contract with an input into pre-contract requirements emphasising customer care and business excellence.
  • Control and monitor day works for subcontractors
  • Demonstrate a good level of financial/technical knowledge in meeting the business and customer objectives.
  • Be aware of the production, on-going analysis & mitigation of project risks.
  • Assist with the production of short term programmes.
 
 Personal specification:
  • Holds the relevant qualifications (i.e. management qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
  • Previous industry experience
  • Proven experience in the management and development of employees and teams
  • Flexible with working hours and have the ability to travel within the local area on a regional and national basis when required
  • Ability to take ownership and solve problems and implement actions
  • Commitment to customer care and customer focus
  • Awareness of operative skill areas other than primary trade

I am working with a main contractor in the Berkshire area who are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated managers. The ideal candidate  
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Manage the design process during the pre-construction and as required, the construction phase.
  • Fully investigate Value engineering and value creation opportunities.
  • Interrogation of enquiry documents, in the form of an Employer's Requirements.
  • Production of a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with other internal departments.
  • Manage our design process via external consultants.
  • Drive innovative and cost effective solutions into the design.
  • Progress design issues within a strict timescale & ensure designers meet information delivery dates.
  • Review Sub contractor design proposals.
  • Verify & control status of consultants and subcontractors drawings and specifications & maintain registers.
  • Ensure the consultant scope of services, responsibilities and fees are agreed.
  • Facilitate the completion of a project risk register.
  • Attend tender launch /tender adjudication and launch meetings as required
 
 Personal specification:
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Have an understanding of different Client procurement routes.
  • Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage.
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
