I am working with a main contractor in the Dorset area who are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. The individual will have a manufacturing background preferably and be interested in steel works. This company focus on factory work within the construction sector.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Preparing regular progress reports for project sponsors
  • Making daily tasks lists and delegating responsibility
  • Arranging and leading on regular team meetings
  • Keeping up to date with any policy and legislation changes
  • Undertaking site checks to monitor progress
  • Dealing with matters arising from stakeholders such as environmental and local community issues
  • Monitoring budget reports
 
 Personal specification:
  • Previous industry experience
  • Proven experience working on manufacturing projects
  • Understanding and interested in factory work within the construction industry
  • Flexible with working hours and have the ability to travel within the local area on a regional and national basis when required

Contracts Manager

Job Title: Contracts Manager
Location: Wiltshire
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + package

I am working with a main contractor in the Wiltshire area who are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. Experience of running your own schemes up to £7-8million and worked on mixed use projects (traditional and design & build). The main projects will be schools and MOD and vary in location of Wiltshire.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • You'll be the main point of contact for clients, site managers and building contractors.
  • Putting together plans and estimates, including budgets and timescales
  • Preparing and presenting documents for tender
  • Contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Gathering information together for invoicing at the end of the project
  • Supplying information to resolve any disputes
  • Identifying areas for improvement
  • Work closely with other professionals, like construction managers, quantity surveyors and planning engineers
 
 Personal specification:
  • Previous industry experience
  • Proven experience working on design & build and traditional projects
  • Proven experience working on new build and refurbishment
  • Experience working on education projects
  • Experience working on MOD projects

Solution Architect x 2

Solutions Architect x 2  
Can be based in either the South West, London or Suffolk  
Salary - Between £60 - £89k PA  
Requirement
Working as a Solution Architect within end to end solution architecture and design (with UML).
You will be expected to be an up-to-date hands-on practitioner in several of the following areas:-
  • Full engineering life-cycle from requirements/user story capture and decomposition through design, integration, acceptance, customer sign off, operational support and decomissioning
  • Requirements capture using User Stories and acceptance criteria including a focus on the non-functional requirements including security, responsiveness, availability and scalability
  • Requirements analysis e.g. using Use Cases to identify normal and alternative / error consitions that need to be handled
  • Effective user interface design and an awareness of the accessability considerations that need to be in place
  • End to end solution architecture and design including system and component definition and interface design using standard modelling notation including UML to represent the static elements of the design including data model, systems, components and sub-components and deployment architecture and the dynamic elements of the design including user and external system interaction and data flow
  • Business process modelling using standard modelling notation including BPEL
  • A knowledge of common design patterns and the ability to apply them appropriately for the required solution.
  • Ability to maintain a baseline design and effectively evaluate the impact of change requests to each of the components and business processes in the design.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas and proposals effectively to customers, programme and project managers, development teams, support teams and other stakeholder's
  • Proven track record of driving standards and best practice
  • Software methodologies including Waterfall/V model, agile, lean
Desirable
  • An appreciation for Service Management, Service Delivery, Transition to Operations (TTO) and ITIL.
  • An awareness of delivering software projects to time, cost and quality.

Quantity Surveyor

I am working with a main contractor in the Wiltshire area who are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. These fantastic new projects are based in Malmesbury, Thatcham and Salisbury Plain and the company operate across to Bath and Reading, up to Cheltenham/Gloucester and down to Salisbury. The individual will work on the majority of groundworks within the business, so has to have experience in this. Projects will range from £1m - £15m, including education, healthcare, and aspire work.  
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Preparation of contracts, including details regarding quantities of required  materials
  • On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work
  • Feasibility studies of client requests
  • Analysing completed work and arranging payment to contractors
  • Allocating upcoming work to contractors
  • Site visits, assessments and projections for future work
 
 Personal specification:
  • Previous industry experience
  • Experience working on groundworks
  • Experience of design and build and traditional

You will have construction knowledge, and an interest in the pre-construction side including bid management. The company ideally would like a hands-on individual who can write and create programmes and methodologies.  
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Develop site specific plans with Senior Management and continually review, implement, monitor and enforce procedures
  • Create programmes
  • Understand methodologies
  • Managing an opportunity from qualification through to contract award, including value proposition / strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management
  • Introduction and implementation of all necessary bid procedures, governance and processes
 
 Personal specification:
  • Experience working on projects from £4m - £6m
  • Experience writing programmes
  • Understanding methodologies
  • Previous industry experience
  • Proven experience in the management and development of employees and teams
