The post holder is responsible for the overall programme and day to day running of their projects, this includes management of studies, design, development, production, support and/or integration of specialist systems.  
This is to be completed whilst keeping within allocated financial budgets, commercial guidelines and agreed timescales as well as undertaking the following: Programme/project management Guidance on the content and staffing equipment requirement documents, procurement strategies and business case submission. Acquisition through life management plans. Staffing contract documentation through commercial and finance staff. Chair meetings. Safety and environmental management plans and safety case reports and chair safety meetings. Risk management plans and risk registers for projects, including risk reviews during project meetings. Monitor and control financial aspects of each project or contract.  
Produce forecasts of outturn and support the EP planning process. Prepare technical briefs, costing analysis, status reports and meeting minutes/notes. Liaison with all relevant agencies. Experience of managing Information Communication Technology (ICT projects). Experience of the MOD/DE&S assurance process to achieve gated submissions. The post holder must be able to work under his/her own initiative with minimal supervision, have a flexible approach to the day tasks required of a project manager and cope with a challenging workload. Good communication skills in dealing with customers, contractors etc and a sound knowledge of DE&S procurement processes. DV clearance is essential and must be a sole UK National

8. Provide Input into Post Design Services (PDS) committees, raising requisitions and monitoring of PDS activity.  
9. Support OI Water Mgr 1 in the management of Obsolescence and disposal of Water capability assets  
10. Maintain liaison with In Service water Capability equipment Stakeholders as necessary, and where appropriate by personal visits.  
11. Assist OI Water Mgr 1 and OI ILSM in support of procurement activity  
12. Support OI Water Mgr 1 in the investigation, resolution and implementation of solutions in respect of issues affecting in-service Water Capability equipment.

  •  The role can be deployed across the entirety of the Finance function, either into Project Control or Finance and Accounting Roles. As such the role will be responsible for the execution of designated tasks and processes and the delivery of outputs to ensure that costs are identified, managed and controlled, providing support as necessary to ensure outputs meet cost identification and reporting requirements, including those of DE&S and Departmental finance systems. In a Finance and Accounting roles you will typically be responsible for General Ledger management, financial statements, posting entries to the GL, ensuring compliance with financial accounting treatment policy and reporting standards, and maintenance of the chart of accounts. In addition, there is responsibility for the consistency and accuracy of Bespoke Trading Entity and Equipment Plan management accounts, planning and budgeting and in-year management performance reporting (including population of MOD financial system). Within Project Control roles you will provide Cost Control experience for Delivery teams with regard to Financial Planning, In-Year Management, Risk, accruals and Business case assurance ensuring project/work package budgets are accurately captured and maintained within the appropriate financial and MI systems and produce regular forecast of outturn covering the in-year position and the estimate at completion (EAC) and that these are accurately reported in Departmental submissions such as the Annual Budgeting Cycle and Quarterly Cost Reviews. Combat systems has recently merged with Naval authority Group and the HQ, and needs Financial support to help rationalise the accounting across the 3 areas, whilst supporting summer costings and QRPC activities. The role is a key part of the Bespoke Trading Entity (BTE) Accounting for Fleet, and will deliver a range of Operating costs inputs.

  •  The Air Platform Systems Team (APS) is responsible for meeting the needs of its Capability and Front Line customers through the provision and support of equipment and systems fielded on a wide range of platforms. Within APS, the Mode 5 Identification Firend or Foe (IFF) Project Team is the focal point for procuring and integrating Mode 5 Identification Equipment and provides advice and guidance to platform project teams as they make acquisition decisions concerning identification equipment. The Mode 5 IFF project will provide a secure and inter-operable IFF system to multiple platform types. This is a complex project covering a large number of diverse platform types in all three branches of the Armed Forces. These include ships, submarines, rotary wing, transport types and ground based air defence systems and radars. The contract was awarded in May 17 to the Single Prime Contractor. The post holder shall support the Mode 5 Project Manager in the management of the procurement, integration, installation and support of IFF equipment across all three domains (Air Land and Maritime). The post holder will be responsible for the following activities: $2022; Schedule control to include planning, monitoring and control of the Mode 5 project schedule. $2022; To analyse and assess the Contractor production and embodiment schedule against the contract award baseline. $2022; Monitor and report to the Project Manager the performance of the project team schedule and critical path. $2022; Support the Project Manager on schedule matters at internal meetings. $2022; Engagement with Defence Lines Of Development to ensure project dependencies, enablers, constraints and risks are properly identified and managed in the schedule. $2022; Fully conversant with Microsoft Enterprise Project (EPM2010) and Primavera P6. The post holder is required to be self motivating and able to work together with the other project scheduler.
