Role & Responsibilities
- The posts require professional Naval Architects with submarine experience to apply specialist knowledge, as the intelligent customer, in the area of submarine hydromechanics. The focus will be on reviewing and assessing submarine hydromechanic safety submissions, managing technical development tasks with industry (in particular QinetiQ, BMT and FNC), considering concessions and engaging with international partners on cooperative programmes. This work will be directed to all current and future submarines. The individual must be a sole UK national because of security clearance requirements associated with the Dreadnought programme. Concession consideration Safety certification submissions Manage technology development programmes Conduct international engagement. Preferably a Chartered Engineer with an MSc or equivalent in naval architecture or hydrodynamics, and a minimum of 5 years post-grad experience. Or equivalent qualifications and experience.
