About the client  
The client is a UK government department responsible for safeguarding the natural environment, supporting our world leading food and farming industry and sustaining a thriving rural economy. In addition to this, they play a major role in our day-to-day life, from the food we eat, to the air we breathe and water we drink.  
Person specification
  • Proven and extensive experience with using PRINCE2, especially the AGILE methodology
  • Must be highly skilled with applying methodologies in an ideal way to meet specific requirements of the project
  • Demonstrate experience in a public sector environment, particularly rural affairs, environment and food
  • Must be able to documents, safely execute a major project and actively participate in all its phases
Roles and responsibilities
  • Produce Project Initiation Document (PID) and project plan for the MMO's programme of work
  • Identify, assess and manage risks to the success of the project
  • Effectively estimate, monitor and forecast costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project in agreement with terms of reference
  • Ensure that realistic project and quality plans are prepared, maintained and all activities are tracked against the plan. Providing regular accurate reports to stakeholder where appropriate
  • Take correct action where there is deviation from agreed tolerances
  • Discuss and gain agreements for revisions to the project from Project Directors
  • Report to the Programme Director on project progress through highlight reports and other appropriate mechanisms
  • Manage and circulate a dependency log
