Role Description
To provide engineering leadership to a project that is required to conduct a Field Evaluation Trial (Sea Trial)  This is a hands-on role that encompasses the following:
  • A person to lead the engineering activities for the project, pulling together the engineering team and ensuring that their work is done to standard, on time and to budget. (Where the PEL doesn't have the domain knowledge to assess performance or quality of work, they should coordinate the appropriate level of reviews - they don't need to be a master of everything!)
  • As well as acting as the PEL, we expect this person to act as a general systems engineer for most of the time.
  • Subcontract management will be conducted jointly by the PEL and the PM.
  • Ideally the person will have a systems, hardware or software background, and will experience of projects that require significant subsystem interfacing and integration.
  • Ideally the person will have experience of organising and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ideally the person will have experience of planning and running sea trials.
  • PEL is required immediately and will complete work 23rd December. PEL must be based in Weymouth for the majority of the time.
  • This person may be required to visit subcontractors to support progress and design development.
