An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Customer Care Operative to join our client to cover their Staffordshire/Cheshire sites.        
         
This role involves delivering exceptional Multi-trades works, repairing, fixing and fitting the New Homes. You will also be delivering exceptional Customer Care to the owners.        
         
The ideal candidate will be situated in or around the Staffordshire/Cheshire areas and have their own tools, you'll also have experience working in occupied homes.                                             
                                     
The Role                      
- You should be multi skilled covering Carpentry & Joinery, Painting, Decorating, Tiling and General quality maintenance.                            
- Deliver exceptional and professional Customer Care to the occupied homes.  
- Flexibility is a must as travel will be required to all areas in the region.             
- Working days are Monday to Friday

I am working with a main contractor in the Surrey area who are looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees. Depending on size of schemes, the MQS will manage 3 to 6 schemes, each ranging in value from £500k to £60m.  
   
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the commercial management of a large project or a number of multiple projects, ensuring that all commercial processes and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure works are valued, including any variation thereto, in accordance with the contract and analyses to determine the project True Value.
  • Ensure costs are managed and ensuring subcontract accruals and liabilities are properly assessed to determine True Cost. Works in collaboration with the site team to maximise value and minimise cost. 
  • Ensure the project procurement schedule is maintained. 
  • Responsible for the procurement of subcontractors on agreed terms.
  • Maintains the project risk and opportunity schedule, ensuring that risks are mitigated and opportunities realised.
 
 Personal specification:
  • Experience of managing teams of Senior Quantity Surveyors and multiple projects, ranging in value and type of scheme
  • Suitable Commercial experience in Construction projects, including cost and value reconciliations.
  • Experience of identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • A good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation

Trades persons must have qualifications and relevant experience in one of the following trades: Carpenter, Painter and Decorator, Roofer, Bricklayer, Ground Worker or Plumber but with broad experience and capability to complete tasks outside their core competency. The operative must maintain a professional appearance and attitude and be polite and courteous at all times. It is a further requirement that all operatives must pass a DBS Vetting check.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A trade specific qualification minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • Must be able to show evidence of 2 other secondary skills
  • Full clean current driving licence.

Candidate Information

  • Diagnose and rectify faults within core and other trade related repair requests.
  • To ensure that the quality of work meets the highest standards at all times.
  • Support all trades to deliver a professional and safe maintenance and repairs service.
  • Respond swiftly to all emergency situations and resolve them efficiently.
  • Keep the customer up to date with what is happening and is going to happen on their job, asking to see the repair and for any other repairs.
  • Undertake all work efficiently and cost effectively, minimising non-productive time wherever
  • possible and reporting any difficulties encountered to the Supervisor.
  • Apply sensible Health & Safety in all you do, using risk assessments, method statements and PPE when needed.
  • Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean and workable condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of works undertaken

  • Be willing to work out of hours to the requirements of the client and participate on the call out rota
  • Your company vehicle must be kept clean and tidy at all times and any defects reported to the Fleet Manager in a timely manner.
