Quantity Surveyor

Painting Surveyor - Location: Swindon - Competitive Salary    
My client is a leading Property Services business providing a broad range of facilities management services to the built environment. These services include painting and decorating, fit-out, refurb general maintenance
Position    
They are looking to employ an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a painting and decorating background operating from a regional office in Swindon.    
Responsibilities  
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for delivering quick, effective, accurate and competitive prices on large and small-scale painting and decorating contracts. You will also be well versed in that strong commercial management of busy schemes, which are a mix of direct staff and sub-contractors.            
Candidate Information    
It is essential that you have worked on volume painting contract previously, preferably in the social housing or accommodation markets. My client expects their Surveyors to be able to produce quality tenders in an efficient and competitive manner but also be able to visit schemes and practically measure up painting projects. My clients are painting experts and will explore your painting knowledge at interview stage. You will be IT literate. You will be a positive, articulate and ambitious character that is a self-starter able to organise their own workload and proactive enough to prioritise their work. Painting Supervisor

Painting Supervisor Location: Wiltshire  
 
I am Looking for a Painting Supervisor for a permanent position based in Salisbury, Wiltshire.  
 
As a permanent employee, you must be very experienced within the painting field and be willing to look after teams on site as well as manage and assign duties.  
 
Alongside this you must be helpful and willing to get on the tools if needed. You will be first contact on site for the painting team and must look smart and presentable.  
 
This role is ideal for a Painter who is looking for their first step onto the management ladder!

I am working with a tier 1 contractor based in the Hampshire area who are looking for a Design Manager to join an existing team of passionate and dedicated employees in the Dorset area. You will be looking after contractors proposals for all jobs, and taking the project from inception to full delivery. The client ideally would like you to have worked for a tier 1 contractor as the processes are very similar.  
   
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Supporting, understanding and advising the client as to the requirements
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
  • Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction
  • Projects range from £1m - £30m.
 
 Personal specification:
  • 5 years plus experience in the industry
  • Good technical ability
 
  • Experience doing schools
  • Design and build experience
  • Ideally A Levels in Maths and Science
 
  • Understanding of contractual design
  • Experience in refurbishment and extensions

Senior Site Manager

I am working with a main contractor in the Hampshire area who are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to work on a £30m project in the Dorset area. The individual will be hands on, looking after internal packages on a large scheme.  
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the client's specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
  • Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
  • Coordinating and supervising construction workers
  • Selecting tools and materials
  • Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
  • Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
  • Maintaining quality control procedures
  • Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up
  • Assessing and minimising risk
  • Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork
  • Helping to negotiating contracts and securing permits and licenses
  • Look after internal packages
 
 Personal specification:
  • Previous industry experience
  • Experience working for a tier 1 contractor
  • Experience working on education
  • Flexible with working hours and have the ability to travel within the local area on a regional and national basis when required
  • Ability to take ownership and solve problems and implement actions
  • Commitment to customer care and customer focus
