Experienced in Civils work, BT Openreach or Virgin Media experience,
Among others your main responsibilities will be the installation of duct, chambers, and cabinets, as well as surface reinstatement.

The successful candidate will hold a full UK driver's license, they will also be able to prove confident skills in the area of street works and have industry recognised qualification to the following standard:
Street works ticket.
CSCS

Main duties & responsibilities:
Will ensure all works are completed as required whilst the team are working within the required guidelines and processes.
Operate manual and mechanical equipment.
Ensure all SLG set up meets the Streetworks requirements and all sites are compliant 100% of the time.
Provide new installation of duct, chambers, and cabinets & associated equipment.
Reinstate to industry standard ensuring all information / pictures are captured on company supplied assets.
Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor / mini digger / jack hammer and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
Complete the required paperwork for your daily work tasks (job sheets / risk assessments / plant sheets / van sheets).

Key skills and experience
You will be able to evidence effective leadership of an in-house field operations team that has a successful track record of delivering results within set SLAs
Can evidence effective leadership and performance management of direct team and 3rd party contractor partners
Previous experience of setting up and managing warehouse and logistics operations
You will have a good understanding of fibre networks and the methods and best practices of fibre fault repairs and installations - fibre jointing and splicing, blown fibre, fibre testing (OTDR)
Experience with and / or knowledge of PIA standards desirable
Will be able to provide examples where you have created and / or implemented new systems as well as new processes and procedures that have led to improvements and efficiencies
Will have previously created effective KPI's and reporting metrics to establish and monitor peak performance

This international Telecommunications contractor has consistently been at the forefront of technology within Fibre Optic Networks.  The have exclusive rights to new technology offering their clients, cutting-edge and innovative approaches to solve their Fibre network problems.

Due to further project wins they are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work alongside the Company's management team.  
Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities Include:
Subcontract management: to monitor and verify subcontract expenditure
including the administration of subcontract payments, implementation of
subcontract change control including issuing Subcontractor Instructions and
evaluation of subcontract compensation events
Create accurate forecasts and budgets
Produce accurate reports to client and build client relationships
Ensure timescales and contract commercial deliverables are met
Ensure both processes and compliance are effectively followed and delivered
Minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still
achieving the required standards and quality
Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
Ensure all commercial and administrative systems and procedures are
utilised
Budget and cost control procedures to be followed
Invoicing of customers, sub-contractors and suppliers
Maximise cash flow
Assess and review contractual and commercial risks
Ensure works are valued and analysed to determine the true value of the
project
 
The Ideal Candidate will Demonstrate the following:
ESSENTIAL:
Degree in Quantity Surveying
5-7 previous years of experience in the construction industry
Pro-active and self-motivated with a solid work ethic, consistently achieving
goals and meeting deadlines
Successful track record in managing all costs from the inception to final
account
Capability to manage projects from feasibility through to completion with
minimum supervision
Excellent communicator with clients, colleagues & public
Demonstrated ownership of all aspects of the job
CSCS card
Passion for excellence
Meticulous attention to detail
Full Driving License
Ability to travel throughout the UK
 
DESIRABLE:
MRICS qualified or working towards Chartership
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or specialist
contractor in telecoms sector
