As a member of our cloud engineering team you'll be working in a growing team that has full responsibility for the implementation and support of cloud based architectures, ranging in size from small bespoke solutions to large enterprise scale deployments.
You'll have numerous opportunities to grow and develop your career. The team is customer focused so you'll have the opportunity to work directly with end customers and design solutions to meet their requirements. While the role is predominantly focused on the implementation and support of cloud components, there will also be an opportunity to design broader cloud system architectures.
Day to day you'll be:
Deploying secure, reliable, efficient and cost optimised cloud components
Translating low level architectural designs into CloudFormation templates
Analysing cloud configurations to diagnose system faults or recommend improvements
Updating CloudFormation code snippets to reconfigure cloud components
We'll also need to see these on your CV
A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study
Writing basic code using Python or PowerShell
Writing CloudFormation templates to deploy and configure AWS cloud components (e.g deploy EC2 instance)
Automating AWS workflows based on trigger events (e.g. S3 event triggering Lambda function)
Using the AWS SDK for Python (Boto3) to programmatically interact with AWS cloud resources
Configuring containers to host infrastructure services
Deploying cloud based virtual desktops through AWS Workspaces
A desire to continually update, enhance and validate cloud skills, (ideally with a view to pursue cloud certification e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner / SysOps Administrator)
Due to the nature of the work our team undertake, you'll need to be eligible to gain DV security clearance to be able to join us. This means you need to be a British national and not worked outside the UK in the last 10 years.
