Platform & Infrastructure:
  • Linux Experience, ideally CentOs or Redhat
  • Scripting (Bash, Shell, Python) or other programming language (C or C++)
  • Networking - how networks work, design, Cisco qualifications, firewalls

Security is as important as ever in a world where technology is evolving and cyber-attacks are on the rise. By joining as a Software Engineer, you will be developing and supporting secure applications to combat cyber-crime and threats to the UK's Critical National Infrastructure.
 
You will be responsible for:
- Working independently on technical projects/operational support tasks for managers or sponsors  
- Draft reports and make recommendations to managers and project sponsors
- Leading the development, implementation and ongoing management of policies and procedures
- Working with internal, external and third party suppliers
 
Everyday tasks:
- Design, develop, test, deploy and continually improve software to keep us ahead of the cyber-criminals
- Writing software
 
You will need to be a hands on practitioner in at least one of the technology areas we work in.
 
Your CV must include:
- A degree in a relevant field of study
- Experience of working to multiple deadlines

An information Security Assurance Coordinator required to manage a range of information security risk management and compliance requirements for a Central Government IT transformational programme. The role will work to support the Security Deliver Manager and the Data & Security Compliance Lead with all security tasks on the programme.


Core Skills

Mandatory
• Excellent written and verbal skills needed.
• Information security background (at least 3 years)
• CISSP, CISM, CEH or similar security qualification
• Experience in creating and maintaining security compliance records (eg, ISO27001, NIST CSF etc)



Desirable
• Experience of working in Central Government departments
• Experience of a large Government IT transformation
• Experience working in a Programme/ project management office


Deliverables
1. Daily information security advice and guidance
2. Creation of security document templates
3. Support the deliver manager with weekly programme reports on security activities
4. Maintenance of NIST Cyber Security Framework for the programme
5. Tracking of supplier security requests and responses

The Role

The Quantity Surveyor will be required to provide post-contract commercial management of high value/risk activity as well as to support pre-contract activity within the Project delivery team’s scope of work. Providing specialist commercial advice, guidance and recommendations to mitigate commercial risks.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Ideally 4-8 years’ experience in commercial management role on infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrable relevant experience of managing Target Cost Contracts
  • Good understanding of railway and construction industry forms of contract
  • Good understanding of the construction/railway industry
  • Good negotiation skills
  • 2 years experience of working within Network Rail

Desirable

  • Educated to degree standard in related subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute, chartered status
  • Awareness of industry issues
  • Demonstrable relevant experience of managing NEC suite of contract
