The proposal for the Sentence Planning tool is to allow for the responsible prison officers to work with a detainee on their rehabilitation programme in a way that is fit for purpose for all end users. The current system is not fit for purpose and does not align with a more collaborative approach to offender rehabilitation. The new sentence planning service aims to provide more efficiency and to be more easily updated and reviewed by members of staff and a more engaging and understood service when used for reporting.
