Overview: 

The role involves a comprehensive Asset capture survey of all of the HMPPS Prison Establishments. It is envisaged that this type of survey will take between 4 – 6 weeks per site depending on Establishment size, complexity and logistics. 

In practical terms the post holder will need to: · Travel to and work within a large number of HMPPS Prison Establishments in line with the detailed programme · Enter all buildings, rooms, plant & switch room areas (internal and external) to obtain (fixed) Asset data ie plant & associated equipment (Electrical / Mechanical / Building etc) · Observe (but not remove) site specific block plan drawings/diagrams held at Establishments · Liaise with HMPPS Service Delivery Manager and Total Facilities Management provider/s to familiarise with Establishment layout · Collect Asset data for all plant & associated equipment for all buildings within an Establishment into an agreed format and hierarchal structure that can be transferred and imported into Planet FME (CAFM system) · Identify all maintainable Assets at the Establishment including critical assets · Provide accurate up-to-date Asset information to feed into HMPPS Computer Aided Facilities Management system (Planet FME) and business cases for asset replacement, refurbishment and life-cycling of Assets · Responsible for providing assurance to the HMPPS Asset Survey Implementation Manager that the Asset verification survey is being delivered in accordance with the detailed programme timescale and agreed standards · Responsible for providing detailed programme progress reports to the HMPPS Asset Survey Implementation Manager

Responsibilities, 

Activities & Duties 
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties: · Liaise and communicate effectively with Establishment stakeholders to gain access to all areas within an Establishment · Collect, tag and record Asset data for all electrical and mechanical equipment, plant installations and associated systems which require periodical testing, maintenance or replacement · Apply consistent attention to detail when carrying out Asset data collection · Adhere to HMPPS methodology for collecting and recording Asset data · Adhere to HMPPS detailed programme of delivery. 
Ensure all Asset details are specifically recorded in the required format · Quantify and identify the exact number, description, category, location and criticality of each Asset in order to create a comprehensive Asset register / database · Adhere to Mandatory Security procedures and Establishment Local Security Strategy requirements · Comply with Health & Safety legislative requirements, eg Risk Assessment, Method Statement and Safe System of Work. · Provide assurance that all staff are made aware of their personal responsibility towards ensuring Health and Safety compliance. Security Clearance: Must be SC cleared , Potentially BPSS to begin with and then they will need to obtain SC,
