IDS/IPS Specialist - Glasgow
The role holder will be responsible for fully managed IDS/IPS solutions, SIEM, ATD and Log Retention services, including technical pre-sales and sales support, solution deployment and configuration, in-life 2nd and 3rd line support, tuning and alert advice and direct customer engagement.
Provide technical/specialist SME expertise and recommendations to support delivery of the fully managed IDS/IPS service to Customers.
Provide product expertise throughout the product lifecycle, from solution design through to in-life support, including incidents investigation, resolution and Post incident Reviews
Pro-actively managing deployment, testing & maintenance of S/W and H/W for IDS/IPS services, within appropriate customer specific controls.
Improve the overall organisational experience by supporting and driving change within the business and supporting the unit's strategic plans.
Contribute to the IDS/IPS Product and Service development to support GS Sales and revenue expectations.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders, vendors and customers at all levels.
Embrace and embed Continuous Improvement principles, identifying where performance can be improved and spot opportunities to capture new work and new revenues.
Ensuring customers are kept suitably informed and participating in regular reviews
SME knowledge and experience of IDS/IPS
Hands-on networking & security implementation experience.
Fault diagnostic and incident management experience.
Experience working with customers in pre-sales, delivery and operational support.
Excellent communication skills- able to adapt technical communication style to audience.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Network/security qualifications e.g. CCNA/CISSP/ IPS specific
